Message for U.S. Citizens - Kinju Response to Potentially Contaminated Bottled Water

September 7, 2012

This Message is to inform U.S. citizens living in Burundi that Lohida Food Products S.A., the parent company that produces Kinju Bottled Water, released the following statement concerning their Kinju bottled water products:

"After conducting an investigation with the water production company concerning the water treatment process and after the findings of the water quality analysis performed by an experienced laboratory, results indicated that the water produced by KINJU is treated in accordance with international standards set forth by the World Health Organization (WHO). This water was found to have had no indication of contamination and is consequently safe for consumption.

A strange odor found to be present in approximately sixty bottles could only have come from new filtration membranes in the Reverse Osmosis filtration system (a standard method of purifying water) and is non toxic. The defected bottles were located and removed from the market.

The KINJU Company would like to take the opportunity to let its customers know that it welcomes all information and suggestions to improve the quality of its products and we thank you for the confidence that you place in us. For further information, please contact KINJU Company at: (+257) 22 24 8454."
