General Information

We welcome you to the Non-Immigrant Visa Section of the Embassy of the United States of America in Burundi.

Nationals of most countries, including Burundi, must have a visa to travel to the U.S. The type of visa needed is defined by immigration law and is determined by your purpose of travel.  The consular officer will confirm which type of visa you need when you apply.

Non Immigrant visa applications are processed Wednesdays and Thursdays by appointment only (excluding U.S. and Burundian holidays).  During this process, applicants will pay the visa application fee, have their fingerprints taken, and will be interviewed by the Consular Officer to determine visa eligibility.  Visas for qualified applicants can be picked up the following day.
